Meet Meatball — The Little Fighter With the Biggest Heart

Hi everyone! I’m Meatball, although my family sometimes calls me Meatie.

I’m a 3-year-old platinum sugar glider, and if there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I have a heart bigger than my tiny little body.

I’m one of the biggest cuddlebugs you’ll ever meet. I love being close to my family, spending time with the people I love, and making sure everyone knows just how sweet I am. I may be little, but I have a whole lot of love to give.

My Big Adventure to Texas

My journey to Texas was quite an adventure!

I made the 37-hour trip from Oregon to Texas with my mom, Mama, my dad, Suge Flight, and my two goofy aunts, Sweetie and Mocha.

And apparently, we decided that riding quietly in our cage wasn’t nearly exciting enough.

Somewhere around San Antonio, we managed to open our cage and decided to go exploring.

For the next two hours, we apparently enjoyed the best road trip experience ever—riding around on the driver’s head!

Honestly… I’m not sure why everyone was so stressed. We were having a great time!

My Biggest Challenge

When I was little, I lost one of my paws because of anxiety.

But you know what?

That didn’t stop me.

I don’t let having one less paw define me, and I certainly don’t let it keep me from enjoying life. I run, play, climb, cuddle, explore, and do all the things the other gliders do.

If anything, I think it made me realize just how tough I really am.

I’m a little guy with a very big determination.

My Favorite Things

When I’m not cuddling with my family, you can usually find me doing one of my favorite things:

Running on my wheel
Eating mealworms
Enjoying my pinenuts
Spending time with my wife, Delilah
Hanging out with my best friend, Samson my brother

Delilah is pretty special to me. She’s my wife, my companion, and one of my favorite gliders to spend time with.

My Family Is My World

I’m not really a troublemaker.

I’m more of a “wherever my family is, that’s where I want to be” kind of guy.

I have the most tender heart, and being surrounded by the people I love makes me happiest.

That’s probably what makes me a little different.

I don’t need anything fancy.

I just want my family.

If I Had to Describe Myself…

I’d say I’m:

Kind-hearted.
Tough.
Brave.

I’ve been through quite a journey, but I’ve never let it change the way I love.

I came all the way from Oregon to Texas, survived a 37-hour road trip, helped turn a drive through San Antonio into complete chaos, lost a paw when I was little, and somehow came out the other side as one of the sweetest little guys you’ll ever meet.

And now?

I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.
